Bradley’s Accident & The Importance of Risk Management: A Personal Testimony
Bradley’s passion for helping his clients developed after a pivotal life experience in which he learned that you cannot know what life may throw your way but you can prepare and protect yourself, your family, and your future.
“I was only 24-years-old when I found myself crashing head-on with the concrete median dividing the north and south bound lanes of a slippery I-95. I thought that my life was going to end or that my legs would be crushed from the impact. I was extremely lucky that day and was able to walk away from the accident with no life threatening injuries.
While I was thankful for my life, I suffered several medical and now chronic pain issues due to the accident; 5 injured discs in my spine – 2 in my neck and 3 in my lower back, as well as nerve entrapment in both elbows. Suffering from traumatic pain, I moved home to live with my parents to be near Baptist Hospital where I spent most of my time in physical therapy and doctors offices. I was only able to work about 15 hours per week for the next 4 years.
Finally, after 15 years, I have been able to work my way back to 40-hour work weeks but my medical costs to manage my chronic pain are still at a staggering level.
While my life changed dramatically that day, I consider myself lucky that I had the support of my family, had low living expenses, no wife and child, and could focus a tremendous amount of time, energy, and money to heal myself. Now that I have a family, I cannot imagine how this would have impacted my life had this happened a few years later. The need for proper financial planning is vital for everyone and I am driven to help educate my clients on how to help preserve their income, family, retirement, and legacy. I am truly blessed to be here.”
